Dresden: Breathtaking Saxon & Bohemian Switzerland Tour

A nice change from exploring the cities. Our tour of 8 started in Dresden, and we met another group from Prague at the first stop. Our total tour size was about 16 people, and our tour guide was excellent. The first stop was at a park with restroom facilities; it was a nice easy walk with beautiful views. The second stop was at a rural trail where you hike uphill on a sandy uneven path to view the arch, much more challenging than the first stop, no facilities until you reach the top where there are bathrooms and a little restaurant. After coming back down we went to lunch, it was delicious and included a meal and a drink. I had the venison, and it was very good. The third stop was the boat tour where you hike down a switchback trail to a gorge where the boat tour is. It was very pretty but after the first two stops our legs were getting tired. The walk back up the steep hill was challenging with tired legs. In my opinion, I think the tour could have ended after lunch and it would not have changed the experience. Overall, we really liked the tour, it was a wonderful change of pace from touring city streets and museums, and we would highly recommend it. This tour is not for out those who are unsteady on their feet, people with recent surgery or those who are not in decent physical condition. Wear good sneakers or hiking shoes and layers.

It was wonderful, enjoyable and informative trip. Mira - the guide and driver - was fantastic. We spent a wonderful time exploring the sights and hiking.

Mira, our guide and driver, did a great job. However, the hike would have been much easier if the company had provided hiking sticks, even if it was for a fee. It had rained the day before, so some sections were slippery, so my husband and I had to be careful. It was a blessing that we didn't slip or get hurt. I heard that similar tour programs provide hiking sticks. Keep up the good work 👏

Great tour, lovely drive through the countryside and 3 different hikes to breathtaking view points! It’s a small tour- we only had 4 people in ours. Our guide, Mira was a lovely guide! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Would recommend if you’re looking for a nice nature filled day!

Viator does not make it clear that this is a day of hiking. I absolutely loved it but fortunately am relatively fit. My guide Yvette and the driver (apologies I don’t know her name) were fantastic. Highly recommend to those seeking a hiking experience in these magnificent mountains

The views were amazing. We had perfect weather for the hiking and exploring. Our driver, Daniel was very sweet and attentive to our needs. Elli, our tour guide was wonderful. She answered our questions and was very informative about the areas we saw. Lunch was delicious! Goulash, potato dumplings, and Schnitzel can’t be beat. Would do this again.

Our lovely guide met us at the NH Collection hotel in Dresden at 8 a.m we had pre booked but truthfully we weren’t expecting the climbs to be so hard, even so it was worth every step, the information was good, we started at the Bastei, the views over the river Elba were amazing, didn’t think we would see anything as good, next we went over the border to Czech Republic, to go down to the Kamenice gorge, Where the rock formations were just as brilliant, afterwards we had lunch in a lovely little restaurant, food was good, then finally on to Pravicka Gate, the icing on the cake. This is not an easy walk, if we had gone on our own l don’t think we would have seen all three, but so glad we did, even if it means today we hurt to move. We cannot thank the group and the guide for encouraging us to keep going.

Seeing the Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland National Park with Edward, our tour guide and Miro, our driver, was an enjoyable experience. The Bastei Bridge and Pravcicka Brana Arch were exhilarating to see among the picturesque sandstone mountains. I found the long hikes good exercise and rewarding when I saw the sights. Edward was gracious to help me and my old legs climb some of the steep ascents.

The natural beauty of this part of Germany and Czech Republic is stunning! Edward was a really patient, easy going guide. This journey is a cannot miss.
